Inter-American Court of Human Rights concluded its third edition of the Refresher Course on its Case Law, in El Salvador

 

San José, Costa Rica, August 27, 2021.- On August 26, the Deputy Secretary of the InterAmerican Court of Human Rights, Romina Sijniensky, concluded the third edition of the Refresher Course on the Case Law of the Inter-American Court of Human Rights, in El Salvador.

Around 40 officials involved in the administration of justice took part in the final module. They included judges, prosecutors from the Public Prosecution Service, and agents of the Office of the Attorney General, in addition to other key officials for the protection of human rights in that country.

During the Course, the participants were able to expand their knowledge on essential aspects of International Human Rights Law, and the Inter-American System for the Protection of Human Rights. In addition, they were able to study the principal rights recognized in the American Convention, and the course concluded with updated information on case law standards in the area of administration of justice.

The Course forms part of the project “Strengthening the protection of human rights and the rule of law through jurisprudential dialogue, optimization of capacities, and compliance with the judgments of the Inter-American Court of Human Rights, in El Salvador, Guatemala and Honduras” signed along with the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (COSUDE), which seeks to optimize the capacity of those working in the administration of justice to apply International Human Rights Law and the Case Law of the Inter-American Court of Human Rights.
