Inter-American Court of Human Rights inaugurated the second edition of its Basic Course on Human Rights for non-lawyers in Central America

The Inter-American Court of Human Rights inaugurated the second edition of its Basic Course on Human Rights for non-lawyers in Central America on the afternoon of Tuesday, October 6.

The Basic Course forms part of the project "Training and awareness on human rights on the occasion of the pandemic caused by COVID-19" and has the support of the Heinrich Böll Foundation. This training initiative seeks to offer the non-legal community of the region strategies for learning and teaching human rights.

The invitation to join the course received more than 4,500 applications from various sectors, both governmental and of civil society. This distance learning course, in which 100 non-lawyers from the region are participating, is being implemented through a series of videoconferences imparted by the specialist Lorena González, with the support of the Court’s International Cooperation Team.
